sharing recipes...

anyone interested in sharing recipes? i'm always looking for something new. tonight i tried to make chicken and dumplings...well lets just say there was a lot of chicken, very little dumplings, and it was very soupy/thin. mattie had two bowls so i know she loved it. brian and i ate it but it wasn't that good. ryder liked it too, i guess.

anyway, yesterday i fixed "Crawfish Chowder". OMG! it was delish!!!!

Crawfish/Shrimp Chowder
1/2 cup (or more) seasoning blend (onion, celery, and green peppers pre-cut) you can get it in the freezer section at W-M or any grocery store
1 stick of butter
1-2 lbs. of crawfish or shrimp
2 cans of cream style corn
2 cans of cream of potato
1 pt of half & half
seasoning to taste

Saute' seasoning blend in butter. Add crawfish and saute. add soup, corn, and half & half. season to taste. cook on low. add milk if too thick. don't cook too long 'cause the shrimp/crawfish will get tough. do not let it boil.

Easy Cheesy Cobbler
1 can of any kind of fruit pie filling
Yellow cake mix - just the dry mix
1 stick of butter

pour pie filling in a greased casserole dish, sprinkle cake mix generously on pie filling till it is covered (about half of the mix), cut up the stick of butter and drop over the cake mix - do not melt the butter first. cook at 350' for about 40-45 min.

connie (& anyone else), i know you don't like seafood so make this w/out the meat...corn chowder! very good!!!

share away!
:)
we could even create a whole other blog just w/ recipes!

Sounds delicious...too bad I can't find any of that stuff here. But, listen to you, Mrs. Gourmet. Impressive. Can't wait to come over for a visit for dinner when we come home. (hint hint)
