i'm back and britt fam christmas...finally!

i took a little blog vaca. hopefully i won't get burned out on it this time. i'm going to post pics of the britt fam christmas. since it's still january it's not too late:) here goes!

the project

it looks simple but it took a lot of time. when you see the picture of the collage and frames pics around it...imagine a chalkboard framed in wood. we took the boards down and painted over the chalkboard. the girl's board and collage (sp?) took the most time. really, the collage (sp?) was very stressful b/c i would arrange it then look at it and change it, look at it, change it....i wanted all of our youth, their schools, and activities to represented. that is stressful. i made sure to represent the homeschoolers in our group. one of them came up to brian and said, "i think you forgot something" and he said, "what" and she said, "the homeschoolers" and he said, "i don't think so look at the top center." she was like, "oh".

mer. was asking for pics of my project so here it is.

blog blues

i'm finding out more and more that i don't lead a very interesting life. as u can tell i haven't posted in over a week. we're busy but it's not that interesting enough to write about. as i said in my previous post, i've been working on a project for our youth wall in the student building. i'm very proud of it and will take pics of it and post those next.

we ate out twice this week....$30 down the drain. sickening. poo on me. well, poo on brian. it's his fault. he always wants to eat out at lunch. i'm not strong enough to say no. so it's our fault.

guess i'll go for now.

blogged out

i'm working on a project for our youth room so i'm kind of preoccupied at the moment. and also i've been so blog crazy the last few weeks, i've kind of burnt out on it.

on a good note...ryder has started "potty training". my friend that keeps him said he is doing really good! mattie was so easy she literally trained herself before she was two and was sleeping in a big bed. so i'm kind of lost w/ this one - boys:)

maybe i'll have something more interesting in a few days!

My accompliment

I had two goals for this weekend: laundry and to clean out Matt's room! I did it w/ Brian's help. I'm fixin' to tell on myself but who cares...i haven't done laundry except for necessities - since before our fam ski trip :O! sad huh! well, i divided up all of it and it came to 12 loads i think. i'm still working on it but as of right now i only have 7 more to go. I cleaned out mattie's room and ryder's too! i still have to go through his toys and closet but it's picked up and some of his bigger toys have been put up in the attic. I cooked friday night, saturday, and sunday!! I am bound and determined to not waste money on eating out. you can do so much more w/ that money!

it's sooo nice to have a clean house. i made myself coninue on and on until it was done. whew!

sports update as if any of you care a lick....the cowboys (sorry Mer.) and the colts are out. sad to see the super bowl champs of '07 lose.

sharing recipes...

anyone interested in sharing recipes? i'm always looking for something new. tonight i tried to make chicken and dumplings...well lets just say there was a lot of chicken, very little dumplings, and it was very soupy/thin. mattie had two bowls so i know she loved it. brian and i ate it but it wasn't that good. ryder liked it too, i guess.

anyway, yesterday i fixed "Crawfish Chowder". OMG! it was delish!!!!

Crawfish/Shrimp Chowder
1/2 cup (or more) seasoning blend (onion, celery, and green peppers pre-cut) you can get it in the freezer section at W-M or any grocery store
1 stick of butter
1-2 lbs. of crawfish or shrimp
2 cans of cream style corn
2 cans of cream of potato
1 pt of half & half
seasoning to taste

Saute' seasoning blend in butter. Add crawfish and saute. add soup, corn, and half & half. season to taste. cook on low. add milk if too thick. don't cook too long 'cause the shrimp/crawfish will get tough. do not let it boil.

Easy Cheesy Cobbler
1 can of any kind of fruit pie filling
Yellow cake mix - just the dry mix
1 stick of butter

pour pie filling in a greased casserole dish, sprinkle cake mix generously on pie filling till it is covered (about half of the mix), cut up the stick of butter and drop over the cake mix - do not melt the butter first. cook at 350' for about 40-45 min.

connie (& anyone else), i know you don't like seafood so make this w/out the meat...corn chowder! very good!!!

share away!
:)
we could even create a whole other blog just w/ recipes!

aaahhh finally!

i think i messed up my other blog b/c i was changing it too much. i'll keep this one for a while.

the weekend is here and we have nothing to do! Yes! Sweet! oh wait there's 16+ loads of laundry and Matt girl's room to clean out. well, at least we'll be home!

Videos and Pics still to come! I still haven't posted pics of our Britt Christmas, some fam ski trip video, and one of Ryder singing "jesus loves me" in his own sweet little way!
